Bug Report: Infinite Scrolling Not Working on Safari & Chrome
Expected Behavior Infinite scrolling should dynamically load new content as the user reaches the bottom of the page, without requiring a manual refresh or additional interaction. Current Behavior • On Safari and Chrome, infinite scrolling does not trigger when reaching the bottom of the page. • The user cannot access additional content beyond what is initially loaded. • No errors are visibly displayed, but the expected loading of new items fails to execute. Possible Solution • Ensure intersection observer or scroll event listeners are firing correctly in Safari and Chrome. • Check for browser-specific event handling issues (e.g., passive event listeners or event bubbling). • Verify that lazy-loading mechanisms or fetch requests are correctly triggered and processed. • Consider using alternative scrolling detection methods, such as scrollHeight, offsetHeight, and clientHeight. Steps to Reproduce Open the webpage in Safari (latest version) or Chrome (latest version). Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Observe that no new content is loaded (compared to expected behavior). Check the developer console for any errors or failed network requests. Context (Environment) • Device & OS: macOS Ventura / Windows 11 • Browser version chrome Version 133.0.6943.142 safari Version 17.1 (19616.2.9.11.7)
