$sleek.shutdown() isn't working

It seems to initialize properly, generally works, but I'm having a problem shutting it down upon logging out of the app. Calling window.$sleek.shutdown() returns true and sets the window.$sleek to an empty array, but the widget is still present on the screen, and window.sleek._instance still exists
