Date in frontend - universal format without translation needed

Please implement as option, date in just universal format: dd.mm.YYYY (Europe) or mm.dd.YYYY (US+). No need to translate it then (for now lack of frontend translations is most urgent issue here). If it will be implemented, changelog widget would be useful for everyone then without need for whole frontend traslations which make take some time...
